Multipage Documents
Project Overview
I created a design portfolio as the final deliverable in my Designing Technical Documents class. The portfolio was comprised of flyers, a multipage document, and an infographic.
Skills
- CRAP method
- Grids
- Information design
Tools
- Adobe InDesign
- Adobe Express
Outside of the design portfolio, I found real-world instances of different typefaces and typographic conventions.
I used an InDesign ink splatter effect on the cover, title pages, and along the top and right border of each page to create cohesion with the typeface and typographic theme.
For the typeface examples, I typed each typeface name using that same typeface to create visual unity.
Because I used a grid for this project, the top of the images and the accompanying text were always in alignment. The grid also helped with proximity as some pages contained several examples of a typeface or typographic example.
I was tasked with redesigning this multipage document. This document was riddled with:
- Poor alignment
- Limited contrast
- Inconsistent formatting
- Nonexistent white space
I created a two-column design and implemented visual interest by:
- Incorporating the college’s colors
- Creating headings and bulleted lists
- Generating white space
The result is a visually captivating, cohesive document.
