Project Overview

My team and I created an Employment Outlook report in our Studies in the Teaching of Technical Communication class. The goal was to explore details about our four different careers in hopes of educating advisors and undergraduate directors about relevant information to help prospective students identify their desired career paths.

Each member curated questions about their respective careers and interviewed a subject matter expert (SME).

We used pull-out quotes to create visual interest and break up the bulky text. To maintain consistency, we used parallelism, a specific RGB color scheme, and two typefaces.

We synthesized data from SME interviews, the Occupational Outlook Handbook, and job listings to triangulate what skills and experiences our four careers had in common. We also used the synthesized data to create dynamic visuals ranging from graphs to quotes.

We established stakeholder communication in the recommendations section by suggesting actions that students could take to pursue careers in their desired field.
